PTSD- Healing from trauma: Owning yourself

Post-traumatic stress syndrome PTSD is defined when a person has experienced a traumatic event. Prevention begins after an accident, and it is easier to treat after getting PTSD. The reason for the occurrence of PTSD is that we over-repress this accident, evade and not face the treatment. The pressure of the traumatic event is not only not seen, but it may be more enhanced, and finally emerged from various places. The basic concept of preventing PTSD is to reduce repression, gradually face events and expand our awareness. The more you can confronting the fact after an accident, the more you won't get PTSD. Therefore, the principle of preventing PTSD is to review the accident as much as possible within the range that the injured person can bear after the accident. In the repeated confrontation facing the traumatic event, giving this accident a reasonable interpretation, it will bring the reason(rationality) into it, and letting our rationality evaluate the incident thoroughly, leads to blending emotions and harmonize them.

From the perspective of neuroscience, our amygdala is autonomous, but it still works in harmony with the rest of the brain. When you are depressed, there is no coordination from other parts of the brain. Only the amygdala's independent operation continually reminds us to be nervous, fearful, and afraid. The reason is a function from the frontal lobe. If we increase the time on facing the event, in the context of inclusive emotions, and let rationality cooperate and deal with this incident, the frontal lobe will inform the amygdala how serious the matter is? How sensitive is it? It can then reduce the excessive sensitivity of autonomously occurring amygdala. Of course, the amygdala may also be the anxiety of its leading operation. It can only be integrated into the repeated practice, so that reason and emotion can be combined to help the amygdala to reduce sensitivity. As in the reading, there are multiple ways to examine and treats TSD. However, everything that was mentioned, eventually, return to confronting the event and memories that we avoid to recall. Although medical treatment provides chemical result in our brain, our mental state is where the problem originates. Each person's ability to withstand a problem is different. The same thing happens on different people; the results will be different.
